Gamestudio is the first all-in-the-box development system for virtual worlds, simulations and especially 2D and 3D computer games. It combines the Atari lite-C programming language with a high end 3D engine, a 2D engine, a physics engine, level, terrain and model editors, a template system for creating games without programming, and huge libraries of 3D objects, artwork and ready-assembled games.
Gamestudio Commercial is for ambitious projects and supports shaders, decals and beam effects, as well as network and online games.
Gamestudio/A7 is 100% compatible to it's predecessor, Gamestudio/A6; all V6.60 projects will still run under A7. The A7 engine renders noticeably faster than A6 and contains hundreds of new features, such as an improved script language with direct access to DirectX functions, a full physics engine in all editions, an ABT scene manager, improved multiplayer functions, improved terrain renderer, radiosity light mapper, atlas mapping, unlimited dynamic lights, decal system, shader viewer and shader library.
As owner of any Gamestudio/A7 single edition you can freely publish and distribute your applications. You don't need to pay royalties, you don't need to show credits, you don't need to ask for permission. There is only one exception. It's illegal to use Gamestudio for games that propagate genocide against a certain group, race, nation or religion existing in today's real world.
